Doctoral theses
FIR employees’ theses can be consulted in the FIR’s library. Since October 1997, most of these theses and other FIR reports have been published by Shaker Verlag in a series called “Rationalisierung”.
The PAS is a publicly available specification that describes products, systems or services by defining characteristics and requirements. Its big advantage is that it can be published much faster than a standard, since it does not require the full consensus of all interested parties. Therefore it is possible to meet market requirements by closing the gap between industrial and consensus-based standardisation. Jointly with Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN), FIR has already published numerous PAS.
FIR is involved in the publication of several reference books in the fields of service management, information management and product management.
The FIR and the FIR spin-off Trovarit jointly publish the “Marktspiegel Business Software”. It offers an overview of the market of business software for special application areas and is based on regular analyses carried out by the FIR.
