Profitability, security of supply as well as environmental sustainability are the objectives of North Rhine-Westphalia’s energy policy.

The main task of Energieregion.NRW is to create connections between the different players along the energy value chain. North Rhine-Westphalia is to remain the most important energy region in Europe. The aim is to further strengthen the region’s national and international positioning as well as the energy sector’s expertise and excellence, so that North Rhine-Westphalia remains the number one energy region. The objective is to make the state internationally more visible as an excellent energy location.

Currently the FIR contributes to the cluster activities with the projects Smart Watts and Eumonis.
