FIR scientists have access to the services offered by the career pool. Career pool staff advise and coach members, alumni and partners of the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL), the FIR and the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT) in matters of personal development, leadership and organisational issues.

For industry, the career pool’s employees are experienced contact persons and active mediators for the recruitment of specialists and executives in the area of production engineering.

  Interface between candidates, companies, recruitment agencies and institutes
• Assistance in filling advertised and non-advertised vacancies or with search assignments for companies and recruitment agencies
• Presentation of suitable candidates to the company 
• Organisation of the application process
• Individual counselling and group training sessions for candidates on job applications and career planning, including job hunting in target companies
• Planning and implementation of tailored personnel marketing events for companies

Possible reasons for coaching

• Improving the management situation, preparation for new tasks, changes in the professional role, personal life choices, improving conflict resolution skills, need for feedback

Goal

• Development of new courses of action, increasing the degree of reflection and the ability to take confident decisions with regard to management and conflict situations, as well as personal development processes

• Joint review of the context and the specific objective of the coaching
• Solution-oriented consulting with a systemic approach, either as a
  one-on-one appointment, or continuously accompanying the process until the objectives are achieved
