The research group Logistics Management is concerned with finding a solution to logistics’ trade-off between high readiness for delivery and minimal stock. Due to the markets’ adaptation to higher customer demands, product life cycles have shortened and product variety has increased. This has lead to more complex planning and material supply processes. The results are high stock levels and increasing costs. Segmentation and standardisation of planning, purchasing and distribution processes are the key to more efficiency and more effectiveness. Product-group-specific strategies and concepts for optimising companies’ logistical capability are the focus of the group’s work.
