Use of language assistance systems in the value chain of SMEs in the filed of machinery and plant engineering
The Smart Speaker research project focuses on the identification, evaluation and development of beneficial application scenarios for speech assistance systems in SMEs in mechanical and plant engineering.
Intelligent loudspeakers connected to the Internet, including voice recognition and control - so-called "smart speakers" - can be found in more and more private households. With the exception of a few application scenarios in intralogistics (for example with the "Pick by Voice" method), the development from the private user sector described above has not yet arrived in the operational practice of companies.
Solution approach and expected result
The procedure to be developed in the "Smart Speaker" research project will enable SMEs in mechanical and plant engineering to identify and evaluate beneficial application scenarios for speech assistance systems and to exploit their potential.
Benefits for the target group
The benefits for SMEs arise from the following points:
- Focusing of core activities
- Cost optimization of the value-added processes
- Quality optimization of the value-added processes
- Optimization of reaction times
- Fast access to information
- Automation and digitalisation of certain activities
- Reduction of latency times
