News from the RWTH Aachen Campus 25 / UdZ 1-2021 Zertifikatskurs „Digital Transformation Expert“ In einer Zusammenarbeit des Industrie 4.0 Maturity Centers und demBereich Informationsmanagement des FIR wurde gemeinsam der Zertifikatskurs „Digital Transformation Expert“ entwickelt. Innerhalb des Kurses werden den Teilnehmern Methoden und Werkzeuge vermittelt, umdie Digitale Transformation in IhremUn- ternehmen strategisch zu planen und zielgerichtet umzusetzen. In- haltlichwerden Expertise und Erfahrungen aus Forschungs- und ei- ner Vielzahl von Industrieprojekten andie Teilnehmerweitergeben. Das Kurskonzept beinhaltet einen intensiven Austausch zwischen den Teilnehmern sowie den Referenten und enthält verschiedene Workshops zur Vertiefung der einzelnen Themenfelder. 5G-Industry Campus Europe Der „5G-Industry Campus Europe“ wird der erste Standort in Europa sein, der über ein umfassendes 5G-Netz verfügt, um neue Anwendungen für 5G in Pro- duktionsumgebungen unter realen Bedingungen zu erforschen und zu tes- ten. Mit einem Outdoor-Netz von rund 1 Quadratkilometer und einer Produk- tionsfläche von 7.000 Quadratmeter wird das 5G-Netz die Fläche des Campus Melaten auf dem RWTH Aachen Campus und die gesamte Maschinenhalle des Fraunhofer IPT abdecken. Um die Übertragbarkeit der Ergebnisse auf die In- dustrie zu gewährleisten, wird das 5G-Netz in einem Frequenzband von 3,7 bis 3,8 GHz aufgebaut und hat zusätzlich Zugang zu einem 4G-Netz. With an outdoor network of around 1 km² and a shop floor of 7,000 m², the 5G network will cover the area of the RWTH Aachen Campus Melaten and the entire machine hall of the Fraunhofer IPT . To ensure that the results are transferrable to industry, the 5G network will be set up to operate within a frequency band of 3.7 to 3.8 GHz and will additionally have access to a 4G network. Within the course, participants are taught methods and tools to strategically plan and purposefully implement the Digital Trans- formation in their company. In terms of content, expertise and experience from research and a variety of industry projects are passed on to the participants.
