UdZ 02.24 / 59 DiSH-O-Klin: Digital Stimulation of Hygiene and Optimization Measures for Hospital Operations Every year, up to 600,000 patients acquire infections in German hospitals, resulting in additional suffering for patients and considerable economic burdens on medical facilities. The additional treatment costs per case of infection average over 11,000 euros. Adequate hand hygiene as a preventive measure against hospital infections requires proper and comprehensive implementation. To support this highly effective preventive measure, the DiSH-O-Klin project is developing an intelligently networked incentive and documentation system, which includes digital health monitors, name badges and integrated building technology for continuous monitoring of hygiene compliance. The aim is to improve hygiene practices, reduce the number of infections, and consequently alleviate patient suffering and lower treatment costs. Digital health monitors could, for example, identify potential hygiene risk areas and use AI to adjust specific building technology parameters. The aim is to optimize infection prevention, resulting in shorter hospital stays, fewer diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, and a reduction in antibiotic resistance. > UdZU0dZ2.0210.24 / 59
