FIR NEWS 20/ UdZ 01.22 Industrielle Gemeinschaftsforschung: Effektives Förderinstrument mit Alleinstellungscharakter Trotz ihres Wissens- und Erfahrungsschatzes können sich kleine undmittlereUnternehmen (KMU) oft keine eigenen Forschungsaktivitäten leisten. Im deutschen Mittelstand liegt jedoch in der Produkt- und Technologieentwicklung großes Innovations- potenzial für wirtschaftliche und gleichzeitig nachhaltige Lösungen. Die Industrielle Gemeinschaftsforschung (IGF) bietet seit 1954 in Deutschland eine Lösung: vorwettbewerbliche, branchenübergreifende und transferorientierte Kooperation von Wirtschaft und Wissenschaft. Das bestätigt eine vom Bundeswirtschaftsministerium beauftragte Evaluationsstudie der Kienbaum Consultants International GmbH, deren Ergebnisse Anfang Januar 2022 vom Bundesministerium für Wirtschaft und Klimaschutz (BMWK) veröffentlicht wurden. Die Studie gelangt zu der Handlungsempfehlung, das Förderprogramm Industrielle Gemeinschaftsforschung fortzusetzen. Wörtlich heißt es darin: „Die IGF hat sich als effektives Förderinstrument erwiesen. Die mit der Förderung erzielten Effekte zahlenmaßgeblich auf die Erreichung der Programmziele ein. This is confirmed by an evaluation commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, the results of which were published by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK)at the beginning of January 2022. The study arrives at the recommendation for action to continue the Industrial Joint Research funding program. It literally states: “IGF has proven to be an effective funding instrument. The effects achievedwiththefundingpayoffsignificantlyintermsofachieving the program's goals. In this context, the IGF has demonstrated its unique character in the German (and European) funding landscape formany decades and thus represents an important part of innovation funding in Germany.”
