SPECTRUM – APPLIED RESEARCH 90 / UdZ 01.23 6 s. Damit unterstützen die im Projekt ‚AKzentE4.0‘ generierten Ergebnisse die Digitalisierung und Einführung KI-basierter Technik unter Following on from these results of the needs analysis, the internal AKzentE4.0 consortium projects with its partners in application, research and implementation will play a key role in the further course of the project. The aim is to align competencies with organizational needs and to be able to develop more tailored solutions: Each application partner can set company-specific requirements for workplace design in its own consortium project, where digitalization can provide support, such as workforce scheduling. As part of this, the specific needs of the participating companies are also identified, so that the research and implementation partners can offer precisely tailored solutions to support them. The results of these project-internal consultations can serve as best-practice examples for individual workplace design for other SMEs. A competence center will be established in the Aachen region to ensure that the project results can be leveraged in the long term. The competence center is intended to encourage and empower companies and their employees to work with digitalization and not against it, so that the deployed technologies succeed in supporting employees in their activities and the potential thus opened up can be fully exploited. In this way, the results generated in the AKzentE4.0 project support the digitalization and introduction of AIbased technology, taking into account the impact on employees. This is the only way to make work under the Industrie 4.0 paradigm both efficient and people-friendly.6 With the strategies and methods developed in the consortium projects, the competence center offers an openly available knowledge repository. In addition, tailored training and qualification offerings will be developed. Furthermore, a mixed-reality model factory will serve as an infrastructure to illustrate various Industrie 4.0 technologies in virtual labs and in living labs. For example, real machines of a specific site can be represented virtually and thus made more tangible and approachable. In addition, the competence center promotes networking between companies and institutions so that the exchange of knowledge and experience is stimulated. Accordingly, the competence center builds a bridge between research and industry, on the one hand by establishing ergonomic strategies for work design and on the other hand 6 Bosse et al. 2019, p. 14
