UdZ / Issue 02.22

» gala.fir.de InnovativeWays to Learn andWork in the Healthcare Sector in Aachen This was the motto of the second milestone meeting of the GALA project (“Health Region Aachen: Innovative Learning and Working”), which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and supervised by the Project Management Agency Karlsruhe (PTKA), held on May 09 and 10 in the Sky Lounge of the RWTH main building. After both the first milestone meeting almost a year ago and the second consortium meeting in early 2022 were held by FIR e. V. in the virtual-immersive 3D learning world TriCAT spaces, the current Corona situation now made it possible to carry out a milestone meeting in a presence format again, which was organized by the Institute of Industrial Engineering and Ergonomics (IAW) at RWTH Aachen University. The research partners (FIR, IAW, FOM University of Applied Sciences) and application partners (Gesellschaft für Produktionshygiene und Sterilitätssicherung (GfPS), St. Gereon Seniorendienste, Vostra, Lebenshilfe Aachen, Heinen Automation, Modell Aachen, UKA AIXTRA, MedAix) reported on their current activities and the use cases in the four defined guiding themes of human-machine interaction, healthy working, digital collaboration and agility/innovation. In addition, the Aachen Region Zweckverband provided input on the topic of public relations. Two interactive workshops spread over the two days of the event, which were moderated by the FIR and the IAW, were particularly productive and informative. The FIR workshop focused on promoting resilience at the individual, team, and organizational levels, while in the second workshop by the IAW, participants compiled tools and models of work design with a view to various categories. In this context, the self-assessment tool for the survey of organizational resilience could be tested and possible contents for the toolbox “work design”, which is to be provided in the course of a sustainable continuation of the project results, could be developed. The consortiumwas pleased to present the latest developments in the project to Ms. Becker from PTKA as well as to welcome representatives of the new associated partner NOBiZ (NotfallbildungszentrumEifel-Rur gGmbH) as guest speakers. The exciting keynote presentation by NOBiZ dealt with a study on the reaction of rescue service staff to relatives present during prehospital resuscitation and provided interesting crossreferences to other GALA topics. During the joint lunch and dinner, experiences were exchanged and networking within the consortium was promoted. Thus, the successful meeting remains in goodmemory of all participants and will contribute significantly to the further success of the project.
