Competence Center 5G.NRW geht in die Verlängerung –Minister Pinkwart überreicht Förderbescheid am FIR – Neuer 5G- Demonstrator auf der Hannover Messe präsentiert Das „Competence Center 5G.NRW” (CC5G.NRW) wird vom Land NRW mit einem Betrag von rund 2,88 Mio. Euro über einen Zeitraum von weiteren drei Jahren gefördert (01.06.2022 – 31.05.2025). Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart, Minister für Wirtschaft, Innovation, Digitalisierung und Energie des Landes Nordrhein- Westfalen, überreichte am 9. Mai die entsprechenden Bescheide im Rahmen eines Besuchs am FIR an der RWTH Aachen. Für das Projektteam mit Konsortialführer Bergische Universität Wuppertal, der Technischen Universität Dortmund, der Universität Duisburg-Essen und dem FIR an der RWTH Aachen ist damit der Weg frei, um das in den vergangenen Jahren entstandene 5G.NRW-Innovationsökosystem weiter auszubauen. Als Brücke zwischen Wissenschaft und wirtschaftlicher Anwendung begleitet das CC5G.NRW die Entwicklung des Mobilfunkstandards mit dem Ziel, Nordrhein-Westfalen zum Leitmarkt für 5G-Anwendungen zu entwickeln.
