The aim of the project MSCO was the development of a new logistic concept for needs based spare part management in the maintenance.

MSCO was a project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology as part of the initiative for "Intelligent Logistics in goods traffic and commercial transport - Innovation offensive for the markets of tomorrow". Its aim was to develop a logistic concept to optimise spare part management in maintenance by integrating all business process participants and by synchronising the whole supply chain. As support for this logistic concept, an open IT-service platform was developed.
