TechRad

Development of an autonomous technology scouting radar for small and medium-sized enterprises

The aim of the TechRad research project is to automate technology scouting in the form of a platform-based radar and to provide a permanently up-to-date overview of available technologies. The filling of the platform is realized by targeted web crawling aimed at technologies.

Initial situation

The constant growth of the technology market makes it increasingly difficult for companies to keep track of relevant technologies on the market. The overwhelming amount of information is particularly overwhelming for SMEs, which often do not have their own strategy department. In addition, conventional technology overviews are usually inconsistent in their granularity and therefore offer the target group only limited added value.

Solution

The development of an intelligent and automated technology scouting platform will make it easier for SMEs to keep track of the current technology market. In addition, the high degree of automation ensures that scouting is always up to date, so that the companies using it can easily obtain an up-to-date overview.

Expected result

The goal of the project is an easy-to-use, cost-effective platform that provides a highly up-to-date, context-based overview of the researched technologies. A low entry threshold is realized by access to the service via a web service.

Benefits for the target group

The SMEs get an overview of technologies (e.g. for networking their factories) with the greatest topicality. The search can also be specified by specifying their own market segments. An illustration of the technologies through examples offers a further added value compared to comparable market research offers.
